Reaching the world for Christ
Giving and the Gospel
John 3:16-17
16
For
God
so
loved
the
world
that
He
gave
His
only
begotten
Son,
that
whoever
believes
in
Him
should
not
perish
but
have
everlasting
life.
17
For
God
did
not
send
His
Son
into
the
world
to
condemn
the
world,
but
that
the
world
through
Him
might
be
saved.
The
God
we
serve
is
a
giver
and
this
is
seen
as
part
of
his
being
or
his
very
nature
to
be
precise.
God
is
love
and
this
can
be
seen
in
the scriptures
1 John 4:8-9
8
He
who
does
not
love
does
not
know
God,
for
God
is
love.
9
In
this
the
love
of
God
was
manifested
toward
us,
that
God
has
sent
His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him
Love seeks to give and we are created in the very nature of our creator who is love himself.
Gen 1:26
26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness:
Giving
is
the
nature
of
the
believer
in
Christ
seeing
he
is
made
of
the
very
essence
of
God
himself
i.e.
Zoe
or
the
God
kind
of
life.
For
as
many
had
received
him
hath
he
given
power
to
become
the
sons
of
God.
The
reason
God
gave
his
all,
was
to
seek
and
save
the
lost
and
this
was
why
he
became
manifest
as
man
on
earth
in
the
person
of
Christ.
In
like
manner
we
are
to
give
our
all
towards the greatest desire that the father has, which is to see men come towards repentance.
It
takes
finances
to
propagate
the
gospel
and
when
we
sow,
we
sow
towards
God's
ultimate
desire
and
not
for
any
other
reason.
We
are
expected
to
give
cheerfully
and
wilfully
so
that
souls
may
come
to
the
knowledge
of
Christ
and
that
the
kingdom
of
heaven may be established on earth in its fullness.
Zech 1:17
17
"Again
proclaim,
saying,
'Thus
says
the
LORD
of
hosts:"My
cities
shall
again
spread
out
through
prosperity
;The
LORD
will
again comfort Zion,And will again choose Jerusalem."
